Daily Vehicle Walkaround Checks
Procedural Micro Learning Module | Rise 360
This project converts the UK’s mandatory Daily Vehicle Walkaround Check into a concise, mobile-friendly, e-learning course. It guides professional drivers through the exact steps required before taking a vehicle on the road, reducing compliance failures and improving safety culture within small and medium logistics firms.
Developed in Articulate Rise 360, the course uses responsive design for perfect delivery on desktops or mobile devices.
For HGV drivers and transport managers.
Duration: ~ 5 mins
Tools Used: Articulate Rise 360, MindMeister, Google Docs, Canva
Instructional Approach and Learning Objectives
The design emphasises clarity, speed, and real-world relevance for a workforce with limited time. Structured in Rise 360 as a step-by-step visual checklist, mirroring the actual procedural flow. Each stage pairs visual cues with short, plain-English explanations and quick knowledge checks reinforce recall and highlight safety consequences. Built-in feedback supports experiential learning rather than rote memorisation.
Learning Objectives
Identify each vehicle component that must be inspected.
Recognise common defects and understand when to defect.
Follow company policy and DVSA guidance for record keeping.
Design Rationale
Responsive Build: IRise 360 ensures full functionality across desktops, tablets and mobile phones.
Cognitive Efficiency: minimal text and consistent layout prevents overload.
Scenario realism: Example faults and reporting decisions stimulate real driving conditions.
Compliance Focus: Directly aligned with DVSAguidelines to ensure audit-ready accuracy.
Outcome
This project demonstrates my ability to turn formal regulations into fast, practical, and visually consistent e-learning.
It highlights skills in content simplification, visual communication, and multi-device deployment, showing how digital training can improve compliance outcomes for SMEs. illustrates how a small business can transform mandatory compliance topics into quick, memorable learning experiences that genuinely change behaviour.
It also demonstrates my ability to combine visual design, learning theory, and technical implementation (Storyline 360 + AWS S3 hosting).
